Milwaukee Symphony!

Hey all,

It's been a minute. These past few months have been quite the adventure, as I have explored many colleges and universities as well as competed in various competitions. Among these competitions was the Milwaukee Symphony Stars of Tomorrow Competition, which I performed Carl Stamitz's Viola Concerto for. While I didn't win, I was honored to be chosen as one of the honorable mentions, meaning that I was selected to perform with the Milwaukee Symphony!

I performed with them just this past week, performing Antonín Dvořák's 8th Symphony in G major. It was an incredible experience filled with music and memorable encounters with some amazing violists and musicians, most notably the principal violist of the Milwaukee Symphony, Robert Levine, who happened to be my stand partner for the Stars of Tomorrow Symphony Orchestra!

In addition to performing Dvořák's amazing work, I was honored to be selected to perform as the principal violist of the orchestra. It truly was a transformative musical experience.

While I'm here, I might as well share that I am attending the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University to study Viola Performance with Professor Stephen Wyrczynski. My current private teacher graduated from Jacobs, and I couldn't be more excited to continue my education at such an amazing university!

I'm looking forward to sharing more about my musical endeavors over these past few months! Do well and be well,

Charles Kritsch
